How much does Oaklands Nursing Home cost?

Prices vary depending on the level of care required, and the type of room that the client chooses. Oaklands provide accommodation, 24-hour nursing care, all meals, laundry, heating and electricity, entertainment and activities. The costs vary depending on extra services and the type of room required.

My father is aged under 65 and is recovering from a stroke, could he go into Oaklands?

Although Oaklands Nursing Home predominantly care for the over 65’s there are exceptions. If the person has an age related illness, Oaklands Nursing Home is registered to take residents under the age of 65.

Can I transfer my mother from her current care home to Oaklands and will her local authority still pay for her care?

In principle this would be fine with the agreement of the local authority. You should contact your local authority for information on this.

What is a top up?

This is a 3rd party contribution to support meeting some of the financial gap between the local authority payment and Oaklands fees.

What is a FNC (Funded Nursing Care) and how do I apply for it?

In England a contribution is currently £108.70 per week is available to anyone who is assessed as requiring nursing care (including privately funded residents). Residents will need to be assessed and therefore have to contact their GP or health authority.
